2012 Wrapup
The result of the season's finale - and thus of the 2012 World Championship - continues to hang in the balance. Did Sebastian Vettel pass in a yellow zone at Interlagos? Should he in any event have been penalised for causing a first-lap accident? And could the 2012 championship yet undergo another, amazing twist? The World Champion, we should remember, is not officially crowned until the FIA Prizegiving in December... We'll be talking about all these events and more as we look back at this amazing of all F1 seasons with Karun Chandhok, the F1 and FIA Endurance Driver, and Sean Kelly, the world's pre-eminent F1 statistician.

this episode?
The cars in f1 have been “pig ugly” for some time in f1. Sadly.
Cameras in the driver’s briefing? There would be silly complaints about bad language.
I disagree that Alonso “drove better”. Alomso had a difficult car from the start. Also to say that he would have done “this and that” in the Lotus or that Hamilton “would have been champion if not ….” and the almost blaming Jenson or Whitmarsh is just ridiculous. Life is like algebra not magicland.
Thanks for a fantastic season Peter. I’ve looked forward to every episode and learned so much. Karun’s great as a commentator and analyst and I hope to see him back on TFL next season.
Happy Holidays!
Paul
sorry Peter but PLEASE FIX THIS.. you should move the flying lap to another service! this happens too regularly and the flying lap is losing too many viewers with problems that would be very simple to fix, at least put the show up youtube, at least its reliable..
Webacast cancelled due to Ferrari capitualation on “yellow flag/dash light” challenge to WDC??

tyvm!
Hi, Peter. Great catching up with you at the USGP and I hope you enjoy your team shirt. Seb’s pass under “yellow” reminded me of Michael’s pass on Alonso in the safety-car zone, remember that one? (2010, I think?)
I guess the yellow light was on, oh well. Cheers until next year.
it remainds me of the dial up era :))
i;ve noticed that Sahara Force India were a much better car in te last 3 seasons in the second part of the year, from Hungary on!Why is that?
Looking forward to seeing you guys back next season.
please raise the volume in Peter’s microphone!
Peter, What a superb season of TFL and an exciting championship to have witnessed. I’m not sure what to do with my empty F1 time in the off season (any book suggestions?). Oh and KOB to Lotus would be a dream!
Hi Peter, welcome back!!
First of all, congratulations to Sebastian Vettel on winning a magnificent well fought WDC,equally praise to Fernando for taking the championship down to the wire, he also would have been a worthy champion if he had of won it. I feel sorry for him actually, he has been so close for so many years now of achieving the triple…
Now Peter, throughout the years, you have spotted a lot of incoming talent in motor racing, my question is, how highly do you rate Felix Da Costa as driver, and how far can he get up the ladder?
In my opinion, he is the best prospect Portugal has had in donkey’s years!!
Whatever happened it’s silly to think the championship would be overturned, but it is the FIA isn’t it!
A great season, great to see the Stat man back
Bernie not amused by Ferraris behaviour
“In the rules and regs normally you have to protest,” the 82 year-old said.
“They [Ferrari] missed that time. Then there is the fact that a green flag was shown, which nobody seems to dispute.
“It’s a complete joke. What they [Ferrari] are saying in that letter is wrong. I don’t think there needs to be any action taken. It’s completely and utterly wrong.”
Hey all.
What a great end to the season and what a great season it was.
Thanks Peter for all shared during this wonderfulseason. The Flying Lap is a a great success! And here we go for more than 40 years in Formula 1.
Thanks too @ChristyUrban @peterurban and Team!
